Naranasan mo na bang maghintay nang napakatagal? Ganyan ang naranasan ng mga disciple ni Jesus after Jesus was crucified. But as we will find out in today’s devotion, it’s not over until it’s over. Welcome again to our Holy Week series.

Natitiyak kong ang mabuting gawang pinasimulan sa inyo ng Diyos ay kanyang lulubusin hanggang sa araw ng pagbabalik ni Jesu-Cristo.

Mga Taga-Filipos 1:6

Have you been waiting so long for the Lord’s fulfillment of a promise pero parang walang nangyayari? It must be frustrating. ‘Yung tipong nag-pray ka na, naghintay ka na, pero parang tahimik si Lord? Ganyan ang feeling ng mga disciple sa unang Holy Saturday in history. The events leading to it left them in fear and perhaps, they wondered if they should continue waiting on Jesus’ promise or just go back to their old lives.

Many of us go through seasons of Holy Saturdays in our lives, too. Minsan, the wait is too long, and we wonder if God would ever fulfill His promise. We sometimes wonder if God even listens o kaya naman ay kung may plano ba Siyang sagutin ang prayers natin. Katulad ng mga disciple, we feel defeated, and our hopes are crushed. We doubt and we hurt and we think, maybe this is the end.

But unseen by the eyes, when everything seemed silent, Jesus was already accomplishing something great. Ang sabi sa 1 Peter 3:19 (NIV), “After being made alive, he went and made  proclamation to the imprisoned spirits…” Jesus was already proclaiming victory over sin and death. God’s greatest works are not always seen.

Kaya kung dumadaan ka sa Holy Saturday ng buhay mo ngayon, find hope that God is doing something behind the scenes. God is doing something extraordinary while you are waiting. Magtiwala kang hindi ka Niya iiwan o pababayaan at a hopeless state. Have faith that God can  fulfill your life’s purpose and complete your story.
