Performance Level
Bakit ko sinasabi ito, dahil ba sa nais kong mapuri ng tao? Hindi! Ang papuri lamang ng Diyos ang tangi kong hinahangad.

We live in a society where performance level is valued, favored, and rewarded. It is an unfortunate and exhausting reality. Kinagigiliwan ang mga toddler na maagang natutong maglakad o magsalita. Students are under a far bigger pressure — English–speaking ba? Matataas ang grades? Mabilis mag-solve ng math problem? Those who can’t perform as excellently are laughed at, ignored, and bashed. Even adults aren’t exempt from this burden. Thus, the phrase “climb swiftly the corporate ladder.”
Ang ganitong sistema ay hindi lamang nakaka-pressure. Nakakapagod at nakaka-depress rin. We are judged by how fast, how well, how highly we perform. And whether we admit it or not, ginagawa natin ito for our benefit at upang ma-impress natin ang iba. Pleasing others and winning their favor is an art. But not always beneficial. Kapag nasobrahan na ang ating need to solicit praise from others, it can be detrimental to our mental health and social relationships.
Kaya naman sa halip na pagtuunan natin ng pansin na makakuha ng papuri mula sa tao, we should aim our attention at pleasing God. Ang nod of approval ng Diyos ang pinakamatamis na reward. His smile is the shiniest medal we can ever receive. The good news is, according to Ephesians 1:6 (NKJV), “…He made us accepted in the Beloved.” We are now acceptable to God because of Jesus Christ.
LET’S PRAY
Dear God, our day-to-day lives are filled with so much pressure to perform. It’s like we always have to be on our toes and keep the level of performance high. Tulungan po Ninyo ako na huwag magpadala sa pangangailangang magpa-impress ng tao. Thank You that I am already approved by You because Jesus is in my life now. Kaya naman lalo kong pagtutuunan ng pansin na mabigyang-lugod Kayo.
APPLICATION
Sa susunod na maramdaman mo ulit ang need to win somebody’s favor, check your motives. Kung hindi ito in accordance to God’s will, and if the actions you need to take are not aligned to His statutes, seek Him to maneuver you back to where your reward really should come from.
