Thank you for joining us today. Ituloy natin ang ating pag-aaral tungkol sa Good Samaritan in our short series “Random Acts of Kindness.”

Lucas 10:33–35

Did you celebrate the Random Acts of Kindness Day yesterday? Now it’s time to dig deeper into the Good Samaritan story. It provides a great example of how God’s second greatest commandment in Matthew 22:39, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” is fulfilled.

Kinamumuhian ng mga Judio ang mga Samaritano, an ethnic group formed from the intermarriage of Jews and Gentiles. The Jews considered them as enemies and treated them as outcasts.

The love that Jesus requires us to show to others is not limited to family and friends, but even to our enemies. In Luke 6:27–28, Jesus says, “Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.”

In this world where prejudices and biases still exist, the message of the Good Samaritan story is still as relevant today as it was more than 2,000 years ago. It teaches empathy, kindness, and reaching out to those in need, regardless of the differences in ethnicity, religion, or whether the person is a stranger, a friend, or an enemy.

May we be like her. Whatever it may cost in our finances and time, helping those in need is worth it because we demonstrate the love of Jesus.

Thank you for joining us today. We hope you’ll be kind enough to share this devotion to your family and friends. And see you tomorrow!
