Of all the Old Testament Bible characters, David holds the distinction of being near death many times. David survived many attempts of being killed by men following King Saul’s orders, and he was also constantly fighting against the enemies of Israel. But through all these dangers, the Lord saved him. He was able to prove that God is good, righteous, and merciful.

Is your life always in danger too because you have a risky job? Or is somebody threatening your life? In short, kailangan mo ba ng saklolo? Whatever danger we are facing, gaya ni David, we can experience the saving grace of God because He is righteous and merciful. His abundant grace can be seen in the way He saves. And even His very act of salvation for mankind was shown through His Son Jesus who saved us not only from the people conspiring against us but also from the sin that enslaves us. “For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say ‘No’ to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives” (Titus 2:11–12).

God lets us experience His goodness, kindness, and grace through His Son, Jesus. Ang biyaya ng Diyos sa pamamagitan ni Jesus ang saklolong kailangan ng taong gustong tumalikod sa kasalanan, sa maruming pamumuhay, sa bisyong nakakasira ng katawan, sa maling relasyong nakakawasak ng buhay, sa paniniwalang nakakalason ng isipan. Jesus is the lifeline needed by a person who wants to live right. Kaya pakinggan natin ang payo ni David, “Return to your rest, my soul, for the Lord has been good to you” (Psalm 116:7).
