Mapa-buffet man or regular meal, it’s better to eat slowly and appreciate the food.
There are times na nagmamadali tayo, hindi lang sa pagkain, kundi sa iba pang gawain sa buhay. Lagi tayong busy, laging nagmamadali. Often, to slow down in life is not an option. May time na pinapag-slow down na tayo ng Panginoon pero ayaw natin paawat. For many people mahirap mag-slow down kasi nakasanayan na, o kaya ay may goal silang gustong abutin. But when the Lord Jesus calls us to slow down, marahil gusto Niyang ma-appreciate natin ang leisurely pace of living life with His love, grace, and mercy. To put it simply, God wants our attention.
In Luke 10: 38–42, the Lord saw that Martha was making all elaborate preparations to make Jesus and His disciples feel at home. But He reminded Martha that she was anxious and preoccupied. He lovingly exposed her para ma-realize niyang masyado siyang abala, samantalang ang pinakamahalaga is to spend time with Him just like what her sister Mary did.
God wants most of all our wholehearted devotion to Him and not our achievements. So slow down and spend time with Him through prayer and Bible reading. Be quiet and let Him speak to your heart. Be ready to listen to Him and appreciate the tender moments spent with your Savior.
Give me the grace to slow down and help me to live my life with wholehearted devotion to you.
Take a moment to slow down. Set aside your weekend to spend time with the Lord and your family without any distraction from your gadgets. Go out for a morning walk, cook, and enjoy a meal with your loved ones.
