Ang nangyaring ito sa Cana sa Galilea ang unang himalang ginawa ni Jesus. Sa pamamagitan nito’y inihayag niya ang kanyang kapangyarihan at nanalig sa kanya ang mga alagad.

Juan 2:11

Do you believe in miracles? Of all the miracles that Jesus did while He was still here on earth, which one immediately comes to mind? Is it the one where He raised the dead, calmed the storm, or healed the sick? These are some of His most commonlyknown miracles. But what about His very first one?

Jesus was at Cana as a wedding guest with the disciples and His mother. In the middle of the festivities, nagkaproblema. Naubusan ng wine. Back in those days, this was more than just a simple embarrassment. It would have brought great shame to the couple and their families, the kind of shame that would have lingered for a long time in their community.

It wasn’t time yet for Jesus to do any miracles as He Himself said, “My hour has not yet come” (John 2:4, ESV). But the Son of God, moved with compassion, did the unexpected. He instructed the servants to fill six stone water jars with water. “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the feast,” He said. When the master of the feast tasted it, he was amazed. Mas masarap pa ito sa mga unang sinerve sa kanya! Plain water became delicious wine, and potential shame turned into lavish praise.

This miracle wasn’t the spectacular kind where tens of people watched. In fact, at first, only the servants and those who heard Jesus give instructions knew. But this didn’t make the miracle less impressive. It displayed the divinity and humanity of Jesus. The heart of the God who became Man was revealed; the powerful God is also a personal one.

Do you need a miracle today? Trust the One who turned water into wine. If He can save a couple from shame, He can also see and heal your pain.
