Marcos 2:4-5

Do you have friends who are crazy enough to do anything for you? Generally speaking, for most people, uunahin muna nila ang mga sarili nila bago ang ibang tao. Pero sa pangyayaring ito na binasa natin for today’s verse, this paralytic man had four friends who literally tore off the roof of the house where Jesus was. They used a mat to lower him to the ground so that Jesus might see and heal him! Determinado talaga sila.

He must have been impressed by the way the four friends treated this paralytic man. They had strong faith that Jesus would heal their friend. Ang sabi ni Jesus sa paralitiko, “Your sins are forgiven.” Jesus also told him to take up his mat and walk! And that is exactly what happened.

In spite of the crowded room, in spite of the blocked entrance, they still devised a plan to help him. Gumawa sila ng paraan, and they didn’t stop until their friend was healed.

Don’t we wish we had the same kind of friends?

If we have friends like them, magpasalamat tayo sa Diyos. Better yet, may we aspire to be this kind of friend, na may matibay na paninindigan at paniniwala kay Jesus.

LET’S PRAY

Jesus, I pray that I would have faith as small as a mustard seed — gaya po ng mga kaibigan ng paralytic man — faith that can move mountains, that in spite of my difficult circumstances, I will not be afraid because You are here. Help me to have compassion for others, too and to do anything for them.

APPLICATION

Do you have a friend who needs practical help? Gumawa ng paraan para makatulong. Ask God to give you wisdom to know what to do. He will tell you.
