Andres is an active member of the school theatre club. He’s been Don Juan in the school’s staging of Ibong Adarna, and Ibarra in Noli Me Tangere. Pero nang malapit na siyang gumradweyt ng high school, palaisipan kung sino ang susunod na gaganap na lead role sa mga pagtatanghal sa eskwela. Then comes a freshman named Jason. He can sing, dance, and act. Pero weakness niya ang pag-memorize ng lines. Andres has done everything to help Jason memorize his dialogue. On the day of the presentation, everyone backstage was fidgeting, hoping Jason doesn’t forget. When asked by Andres what Jason plans to do if ever he gets a mental block, Jason says, “I’ll throw away the script. Alam ko naman ang mga eksena by heart. Mag-adlib na lang ako.”

Some of us are so tied down by a script. Nauutal tayo kapag may nakalimutan tayong isang salita, linya, o paragraph kapag nagse-share tayo sa ibang tao tungkol sa Panginoon. To the point na nagiging obstacle ito sa pagse-share natin ng gospel. We are so dependent on the script that if we forget a portion, we no longer know how to proceed. Worse, we tend to back out and say, “‛Wag na nga lang!” Or “Next time na lang!” And then, that next time never happens because we always chicken out.

Sharing Jesus to others must not be confined to a script. Not being able to memorize a number of Scriptures must not limit us. Remember that we have the Holy Spirit to guide us. He leads and speaks to us; He teaches and gives us wisdom.
