Ngunit sabihin lamang po ninyo at gagaling na ang aking alipin.

Lucas 7:7

Kamangha-mangha! Ang bukol sa may hita ni Kumander Lito ay umimpis pagkatapos ipanalangin during a medical mission. ’Di mapigil ang excitement at tuwa ni Rowena, isang volunteer nurse dahil bago siya sumabak sa mission, taimtim siyang nanalangin na gumalaw ang Panginoon in a powerful way, para makilala ng mga pasyente ang pagmamahal ni Jesus.

Rowena practiced intercessory prayer, or the act of interceding in prayer for people. To intercede means to bring the needs and concerns of others before God and unleash supernatural blessings. The power is not in the prayer but in our wonder-working God who hears our prayers.

Katulad na lamang ng isang centurion who asked Jesus na pagalingin ang alipin niyang may sakit. He believed that the word of Jesus had the power to heal his servant even from afar. Sabihin nga lang daw ni Lord at gagaling na nang tuluyan ang kanyang alipin. And that is what miraculously happened.

Nariyan din ang mga kaibigan ng isang paralytic. Binitbit at nilapit nila kay Jesus ang kaibigang may karamdaman, trusting that Jesus can make him walk again. With friends like that rallying around you, how can you feel alone? And according to their faith, the paralytic stood up and walked! (Mark 2:1–12)

On both occasions, pinuri ni Jesus ang faith nila, those who cared enough to bring to Him their loved ones’ needs. Yes, followers of Jesus are called to be intercessors through the power of the Holy Spirit. Imitate Jesus, who is always speaking to God on our behalf (Hebrews 7:25).

Perhaps you have a friend in need of hope or healing, or guidance or provision na kailangan mong ilapit kay Jesus through prayer. Are you ready to stand in the gap and watch the Lord take over? Prepare to be amazed as you see Him work.

LET’S PRAY

Panginoon, teach me how to intercede for others and may the results bring us closer to You. Salamat that we can partner with You this way. Amen.

APPLICATION

Schedule a time this week to pray for: (a) our nation and our leaders; (b) for someone to be reconciled to our Lord; and (c) someone facing a health challenge. Keep in mind that prayer activates God’s power.
