Are you a Christian? Ang faith and practice mo ba ay founded sa person and teachings, at sa completed work ni Jesus on the Cross? Sino ang Jesus na sinasamba mo?

Ang Pilipinas ang nag-iisang Christian country sa Asia. Many Filipinos profess to be Christians. Curiously, magkakaiba ang Jesu-Cristo na sinasamba natin.

Maraming devotees ng Sto. Nino; libo-libo ang nagpuprusisyon sa Nazareno tuwing Enero. Marami ring nagpi-pray sa Sacred Heart of Jesus every 3:00 pm. Ilan lang ito sa imahe ni Cristo na kinalakhan natin. Pero sino ba talaga Siya at paano natin Siya makikilala as He wants to be known?

Mababasa natin sa New Testament ang tungkol sa earthly life ni Jesus—His birth, the start of His ministry, ang miracles na ginawa Niya, at ang pagtuturo Niya ng Mabuting Balita ng Kaharian ng Diyos (Lukas 3:23). Alam ng lahat ng Christians na namatay si Cristo to save us from sin (Lukas 23). Our hope of eternal life is based on the fact that He rose again after three days.

We know about the sacrificial life and death of Christ. But is that all we need to know about Him? No. We also need to understand the supremacy of Christ over all creation. Wala nang hihigit pa sa Kanya (Mga Taga-Colosas 3:15-20). Today’s powerful leaders and countries may have control over the wealth and the ways of the world, but in the end, every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord (Mga Taga-Filipos 2:9-11).

Kailangan ring mabuksan ang eyes natin to the truth that Jesus is the One referred to in the events and prophecies sa Old Testament. He is the thread that runs through the whole narrative of the Bible. “He is before all things, and in him all things hold together” (Colossians 1:17 NIV). Kaya magandang maging open tayo sa pag-aaral ng both Old and New Testament.

Kung gaano kalalim at kalawak ang pagkakakilala mo kay Jesus, ganoon din lalalim at tatatag ang pagtitiwala mo sa Kanya. Make sure you know the real Jesus—the Jesus of the Bible (2 Peter 3:18).
