Nang panahong iyon, umakyat si Jesus sa isang bundok at magdamag siyang nanalangin sa Diyos. Kinaumagahan, tinawag niya ang kanyang mga alagad, pumili siya sa kanila ng labindalawa, at sila’y tinawag niyang mga apostol.

Lucas 6:12–13

What kind of decision maker are you? Ikaw ba yung tipong go-with-the-flow, bahala-na-kung-anong-mangyari, toss-a-coin-and-let-fate-choose kind of a person? Or do you take your time, study your options, and list the pros and cons before you make up your mind? 

The Son of God did not think it was beneath Him to ask for help. He was about to choose the twelve na makakasama Niya sa ministry. He knew that He had limited time on earth. Kailangan Niya ng tapat na disciples na buo ang loob at maaasahan. On their shoulders will rest the weight of spreading the gospel after He is gone. It was a decision too important to leave to chance. Jesus communed with God, His Father, spending the whole night in prayer. The next day, He immediately went to work. Ni hindi man lang Siya natulog o nagpahinga pagkatapos ng magdamagang prayer time. He said to the twelve, “I have chosen you to be with me. I will also send you out to preach, and you will have authority to drive out demons” (Mark 3:13–15, GNT).

Do you have an important decision to make? Involve God in the decision-making process. Yes, He can use other people to give you godly counsel. And you definitely should seek their advice. Pero don’t forget to spend time with God, one on one. Soak in His Word. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you wisdom and peace. And finally, lumapit sa Panginoon sa pamamagitan ng Kanyang Anak. Jesus, who bridged the gap between us, can take our hand and lead us to the Father’s presence. He can plead on your behalf and say, “Father, your child needs Your help.”
