1 Mga Taga-Cronica 16:11–12

Last day of the year na ngayon. Kung babalikan mo ang lahat ng nangyari, ano ang nangingibabaw na emotion sa puso mo? Are there feelings of relief, with you saying to yourself,“Good thing I can say goodbye to this year. Ayoko nang balikan lahat ng mga masasamang nangyari sa akin at sa pamilya ko.” Or maybe you are dreading what will happen tomorrow and the 364 days after that. Your unspoken fear can be summed up in these words, “I barely survived this year. Ano na naman kaya ang mga mabibigat na problema ang haharapin ko sa susunod na taon? Baka hindi ko na kayanin.” 

How about doing what King David did thousands of years ago? The ark of God, which symbolized God’s presence, was finally safe. Inilagay ito ni David sa tent that he prepared for it. After making the offerings, David led the people in praising God with a song he wrote. They sang, “Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always. Remember the wonders he has done his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced” (1 Chronicles 16:11–12). 

Two words: Gratitude and hope. Isipin mo ang mga ginawa ng Diyos para sa iyo this year. Yes, you had to face many challenges but didn’t you also experience the faithfulness of God in each and every one of them? Thank God for His abiding presence. Never ka Niyang iniwan. Then, look forward to the next year with hope. Umasa na He will still be there with you and for you. Magpalit ka man ng kalendaryo, mananatili pa rin Siyang nasa tabi mo.
