It is easy to sing joyfully kapag masaya ang puso natin — when we just got promoted, when we receive an answered prayer, and when everything is going smoothly in our lives. Pero, how do we respond when things don’t go the way we planned and hoped they would?

Kapag pabalik-balik ka sa ospital and the pain doesn’t seem to go away, who do you turn to? When prayers seem unheard, do you ever ask God if He cares about what you’re going through?

This is what Job went through when everything He owned and loved was taken away from him. As if it’s not enough, he was struck with a dreaded disease. Ganito niya dinescribe ang kanyang sakit: “Itong buo kong katawan ay tadtad ng mga sugat, inuuod, kumikirot, ang nana ay lumalabas” (Job 7:5). Can you imagine how painful it was for him?

Yet despite all the questions, Job responded with a heart full of hope and trust in God. Ang sabi niya sa Job 13:15, “Though He slay me, yet I will trust Him.” Sa kanyang pagdurusa, Job remembered God’s true character. He is loving, merciful, and wise. He cared about Job’s pain and what He was going through.

Hindi mo man naiintindihan ang ginagawa ng Panginoon in the midst of sickness, you can trust His heart, which only wants what is best for you. Hindi Siya bulag at bingi sa mga paghihirap mo. Trust Him through the pain and wait for His answer.
