Juan 13:35

Did you know that the word disciple means “follower”? So when we say we are disciples of Jesus, then we are saying that we are followers of Jesus. Pero paano nga ba natin masasabi na tayo ay totoong followers ni Jesus?

One way to know is in the way we love. Si Jesus mismo ang nagsabi nito sa Kanyang mga disciples. Sa Juan 13:35 He said, “Kung kayo’y mag-iibigan, makikilala ng lahat na kayo’y mga alagad ko.” Isang sign pala na tayo ay true disciples ni Jesus ay kung tayo ay nag-iibigan sa bawat isa, in the same way that God loves us.

Paano nga ba ipinakita ni Jesus ang love Niya para sa lahat ng tao?

1. He loved by forgiving His enemies. Hindi namili si Lord ng taong mamahalin Niya. Inibig Niya at pinatawad kahit ang mga taong gumawa ng masama sa Kanya. Hindi Siya gumanti, sa halip, ay ginawan pa rin Niya sila ng kabutihan. He even prayed for His enemies and released forgiveness to them kahit na hindi sila nag-sorry.
2. He loved by giving. All throughout the Bible, lagi nating makikita si Jesus na nagbibigay ng kung ano ang meron Siya. He gave generously to everyone without asking for anything in return. He gave His time, His words of wisdom, His resources, power, and healing, and even His life. Walang ipinagkait si Lord sa atin.
3. He loved by telling others how to get saved. Walang sinayang na pagkakataon si Jesus when He was still on earth. Wherever He went, He preached the message of hope and salvation. Ayaw Niya na may taong hindi maligtas. One of the best ways we can show someone we love them is to tell them about Jesus and how to get saved.

When we demonstrate God’s love to others, then we become His true followers.

LET’S PRAY

Lord, I want to be Your true follower. Give me a heart that is overflowing with love and help me to show Your love in the way I treat others. Amen.

Show some love to people today by praying for them, listening to their struggles, sharing the gospel to them, giving them a gift, or doing something kind for them.
