Anxious Ka ba About Your Anxiety?
Huwag kayong mabalisa tungkol sa anumang bagay. Sa halip, hingin ninyo sa Diyos ang lahat ng inyong kailangan sa pamamagitan ng panalanging may pasasalamat. At ang kapayapaan ng Diyos na hindi kayang maunawaan ng tao ang siyang mag-iingat sa inyong puso at pag-iisip dahil sa inyong pakikipag-isa kay Cristo Jesus.
Mga Taga-Filipos 4:6-7
It’s something a lot of people struggle with. Maaaring we know someone who had been diagnosed with it, or maybe we are wondering if we have it. But whether we are diagnosed or not, we experience repetitive anxious thoughts at certain points in our life. If left unchecked, ang ating pagkabalisa ay maaaring makaapekto sa ating daily lives.
Let’s have a heart check. Kumusta ka? Do your negative thoughts affect your reality? Anxious ka ba about your anxiety? Kung oo, huwag mangamba. This is your sign na you can overcome those anxious thoughts! Napakabuti ng Panginoon kaya’t bibigyan Niya tayo ng pahinga sa gitna ng ating pagkabalisa. What we can do is to ask God to work in us. Here’s how:
First, ask God to help you identify the source of your anxiety. Are you anxious about your health, finances, or relationships? Saan nagmumula ang negative thinking? Pray to know what makes you anxious so you can start addressing it.
Then, ask God to help you strengthen your prayer life. Whenever you’re feeling anxious about anything, pray. Pass that burden to Jesus and receive His peace that surpasses all understanding.
Next, ask God to help you guard your mind. Some of the things that contribute to anxiety are our “what-ifs.” Ask God to help you think about things that are true in your life. Siya ang mag-iingat sa iyong puso at isip.
Then ask God to help you rest. Maaari natin hingin sa Panginoon ang lahat ng ating kailangan — maging ang pahinga. Aside from resting through sleep, relaxation, and exercise, rest through praying and meditating on the scripture. Rest in God’s peace.
Lastly, ask God to surround you with people who can help you. When you keep anxious thoughts to yourself, they will build up and worsen. If your anxiety is sustained for a long period, hayaan mong ingatan ng Panginoon ang iyong puso at isipan sa pamamagitan ng iyong loved ones or mental health professionals. Reach out and talk to them about your anxiety. Whenever you’re anxious about your anxiety, have faith that God can heal you as you ask for His divine help.
Panginoon, I surrender all my anxious thoughts to You. I ask that You calm my heart and mind. Salamat dahil Ikaw ang kapayapaan sa gitna ng aking pagkabalisa. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
