Mapagmahal na magulang, anak ay dinidisiplina, anak na di napapalo, hindi mahal ng magulang.

Hindi matigil sa pag-iyak si Patrick. Napagalitan at napalo kasi siya ng Mommy niya. In between sobs, the eight-year-old said, “Bakit mo ko pinalo, Mommy? Hindi mo na ako mahal!” He didn’t notice that his mom was also wiping away her own tears. She hated hurting her only son, but she needed to discipline him. Nalaman niyang naglakad itong mag-isa at tumawid ng kalsada papuntang playground. If not for their neighbor, who saw him there unaccompanied and brought him home, who knows what could have happened to him?

Nobody enjoys being disciplined. Take for instance David. God gave him the strength to kill Goliath, and the power to rule over Israel. Kung susundan natin ang buhay niya, he has always walked closely with God. But at one point, he disobeyed God when he committed adultery and murder.

Hindi ito nakaligtas sa mga mata ng Diyos at si David ay nadisiplina. In Psalm 38:2–4 (NIV) he said to God, “Your arrows have pierced me, and your hand has come down on me. Because of your wrath there is no health in my body; there is no soundness in my bones because of my sin. My guilt has overwhelmed me like a burden too heavy to bear.”

Nagsisi si David and asked God to forgive him. God, in His love, did just that. Their broken relationship was restored. Kung hindi napalo si David ng Diyos, magpapatuloy lang ito sa kasalanan. David needed to know that God loved him enough to discipline him.
