The month of January is celebrated as National Bible Month. Kaya bago matapos ang month na ito, we prepared today’s series “The Power of God’s Word.”

Sinabi sa kanya ni Elias, “Huwag kang mag-alala. Pumunta ka na at gawin mo ang iyong sinabi… Sapagkat ganito ang sabi ni Yahweh, Diyos ng Israel:

Hindi ninyo mauubos ang harina sa lalagyan, at hindi rin matutuyo ang langis sa tapayan hanggang hindi sumasapit ang takdang araw na papatakin na ni Yahweh ang ulan.”

1 Mga Hari 17:13a, 14

Noong bata pa tayo, madalas nating dialogue ang, “Sabi po ni Mama…” when we run errands. Sa simpleng mga salita, we have confidence that our task is urgent and important because we bear the name of someone, and we‘ll yield the results we expect.

Sa pagtanda natin, some of us who have learned the art of negotiation, ay natuto ring mag-attribute sa people of authority, so we can get the results we like from the people we’re dealing with. Sabi po ni Ma’am, sabi po ni Sir, ‘ika nga. Kapag sinabi nating sinabi nila, tumataas ang kumpyansa natin, and we become bold in requesting or doing things.

Ito rin ang klase ng kumpyansang meron si Elijah — isa sa mga kilalang prophets sa Old Testament — when the Lord asked him to go to Zarephath where a widow is supposed to feed him. When met with resistance, he answered with bold faith, “Huwag kang mag-alala. Pumunta ka na at gawin mo ang iyong sinabi. Sapagkat ganito ang sabi ni Yahweh, Diyos ng Israel …” and he proceeded to say what the Lord’s promises were.

When we receive a promise from the LORD, we can face our challenges with bold faith. Wala nang iba pang mas lalakas at mas sigurado kaysa sa mga salitang, “Sabi ni Lord…” Because when the Lord speaks, it will surely happen
