Ang magpasalamat kay Yahweh ay mabuting bagay, umawit na lagi purihin ang ngalang Kataas-taasan.

Awit 92:1

Kadalasan, napupuna natin ang mali ng iba kaysa sa tama nilang ugali. We do not naturally appreciate the strengths of others. Paano na kung ang pupurihin natin ay invisible? Mas challenging kaya? Sabi sa Bible, praising the Lord is a good thing. And when something is good, may pakinabang. Moreover, the Lord delights in the praises of His people, and He repeatedly commands us in the Old and New Testament to praise Him. Hindi dahil bilib na bilib Siya sa sarili Niya, but because of the benefits praising brings to us. May pagpapala ang pagpupuri sa Diyos.  

Unang-una, when we praise the Lord with our lips and our lives, we are fulfilling His purpose for creating us. Tayo ay nilikha para Siya ay luwalhatiin at kilalanin. Kapag ang isang bagay ay ginamit sa tamang paraan, in the way the manufacturer intended, ito ay gagana nang mabuti at magtatagal. God, our Maker, designed us to praise Him. He wants us to experience fulfillment and have fortitude. 

Pangalawa, praising God renews our strength. Minsan, napapagod tayo dahil sa tindi ng effort natin, tapos we experience a “second wind.” Ito ang biglang pagbugso ng panibagong lakas to complete the task. Praising God has that effect. Katulad na lamang ng nangyari sa propetang si Habakkuk. Kahit walang ani, at matindi ang pinagdadaanan, He chose to rejoice in the Lord and praise Him kaya nakaranas siya ng timely joy and strength from God (Habakkuk 3:17–18).

Finally, another blessing kapag nagpupuri tayo ayon sa kalooban Niya is it deepens our fellowship with the Lord. Praising draws us near to Him, and James 4:8 says, as a result, He will draw near to us. Magiging close tayo kay Lord. ‘Di ba pag tayo ang pinupuri, na be-bless tayo? Why not bless the Lord and reap its blessings?
