Sa US drama and fictional series na The Good Doctor, si Dr. Shaun Murphy ay isang resident surgeon na may autism. He has savant syndrome, a rare condition in which persons with various developmental disorders, including autistic disorder, have an amazing ability and talent. Dr. Murphy can read books at an incredible speed and still memorize the details. Amazing!

How we wish we can always remember things as flawless as Dr. Murphy. How we wish we can stock facts and information sa utak natin para magamit anytime na kailanganin. Unfortunately, we are not like that. We tend to forget things, that’s why we need to memorize certain details para hindi natin makalimutan.

Sa Bible, the word “remember” is found 240 times in the Old and New Testament. Sa Deuteronomio 8:2, mas specific ang bilin ni Lord sa mga Israelite: “Alalahanin ninyo kung paano niya kayo pinatnubayan sa ilang sa loob ng apatnapung taon upang matuto kayong magpakumbabá. Sinubok niya kayo kung susundin ninyo siya.”

What specific thing did God tell the Israelites to remember? Sinabi Niya na alalahanin nila kung paano sila pinatnubayan ng Diyos sa disyerto. Likewise, God wants us to remember how He has guided us all these years. By recalling His faithfulness, especially during the difficult moments, makakahugot tayo ng encouragement. Mahaharap natin ang mga imposibleng bagay dahil maaari itong maging posible sa Panginoon, at sasamahan Niya tayo sa challenging situations.

Kaya remembering God’s faithfulness and His promises will help us to navigate life’s decisions (Awit 119:105). God’s promises and directions found in His Word, the Bible, serve as maps that tell us where to go para hindi maligaw. May specific instructions si Lord na gagabay sa atin sa pagpili ng tama at pag-iwas sa mali. So let us remember His faithfulness and His word. They will guide us to make wise decisions para sa mapayapang buhay.
