Nang makita si Jesus ay nagsisisigaw ang lalaki, nagpatirapa at sinabi nang malakas, “Jesus, Anak ng Kataas-taasang Diyos, ano ang pakialam mo sa akin? Nakikiusap ako sa iyo, huwag mo akong pahirapan!” Ganoon ang sinabi nito sapagkat inutusan ni Jesus na lumabas ang masamang espiritu.

Lucas 8:28–29

Nakakita ka na ba ng taong sinasapian? Nakakatakot dahil nanlilisik ang mga mata ng taong demon-possessed, nag-iiba ang boses, at kakaibang lakas ang ipinapakita nito. Nagpapakita ng power ang mga evil spirit pero counterfeit ito compared to the great power of Jesus Christ (James 2:19; Luke 10:17).

In the account of the demon-possessed man in Luke 8: 28–39, nag-panic agad ang lalaking possessed nang makaharap si Jesus. He fell down before Jesus and begged Him not to torment him. Actually, it was the legion of demons inside the man that panicked (vv. 30–31). For many years, they caused the man to live a defeated and miserable life ― homeless, naked, and living in the tombs (v. 27).

Jesus honored the act of faith of that man. He came out to meet Jesus and grabbed his only chance to be freed from the demons that tormented him for many years. At dahil sa paglapit niyang iyon kay Jesus, nabulabog ang mga demonyo, pinalayas sila ni Jesus at nakalaya ang lalaki. As a result of his deliverance, nagdamit na ito at naging matino na ang kanyang kaisipan. He fell in love with Jesus and proclaimed to his family and others the great things Jesus had done for him (v.39).

You may not be literally possessed by demons, but you may have areas in your life that are in shackles because of your involvement in occultism or the spirit world of unseen forces. Remember, there is only one good spirit and that is the Holy Spirit. Gaya ng ginawa ng demon-possessed man, maaari kang lumapit ngayon sa Panginoong Jesus at humingi ng kalayaan mula sa lahat ng gumagapos sa iyo gaya ng kasalanan, bisyo, addiction, pride. Mararanasan mo ang kalayaang bunga ng kamatayan ni Jesus sa krus at muling pagkabuhay.
