Angela and Ricky had a great marriage until the latter fell into sin. Ricky did everything to restore their relationship: Flowers, candlelight dinners, and he even took a second job to afford a vacation abroad with his wife. But nothing worked.

He finally asked her, “I tried different ways to please you but it seems you’re not satisfied. She said, “Theres only one way, Ricky. Cut ties with your other woman, and put our marriage second to God.”

Many times we think that we can fix what we did wrong by making sacrifices. We often forget that to fix a relationship, we should go back to what broke it.

Consider our need for salvation. Salvation? Why do we need to be saved? The Bible tells us that God loved us first (1 John 4:19), and He wants us to live our life to the full (John 10:10b) but this relationship was ruined because of sin (Isaiah 59:2). Dahil walang bahid ng kasalanan si God (Isaiah 6:3), He cannot tolerate sin (Habakkuk 1:13). The message from the Bible is clear, “kamatayan ang kabayaran ng kasalanan” (Mga Taga-Roma 6:23) at “lahat ay nagkasala, at walang sinumang nakaabot sa kaluwalhatian ng Diyos” (Roma 3:23). If that’s the case, who will be saved and how?

Jesus Himself said, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me (John 14:6).

LET’S PRAY

Lord, thank You for giving Jesus to die for our sins and through our faith in Him we have eternal life. My salvation is not a fruit of my good works but my acceptance of Jesus as my Lord and Savior.
