Santiago 1:17a

Maituturing na isang independent woman si Mich. She is used to doing everything on her own. Apparently, may isang bagay siyang hirap gawin. Kadalasan, kapag may natatanggap siyang regalo, ibibili rin niya ang giver nito in exchange for what she received. Wala namang masama sa ginagawa ni Mich. But deep down, she knows that she reciprocates dahil ayaw niyang magkaroon ng utang na loob.

Una, whenever we receive an act of service or a tangible gift, it’s a reminder that it is God who sends people to bless us. Kapag nakakatanggap tayo ng regalo o tulong mula sa ibang tao, remember that these things actually came from God. But if we receive it with a grateful heart, it is a manifestation of our humility and gratitude to God.

Second, receiving a gift or help from others also gives others the opportunity to be blessed. Those people who bless us will be blessed by God.

Give me a heart that knows how to receive blessings and be grateful for them. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
